This colourful abstract drawing is inspired by Movements 1 by Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders, and the London Symphony Orchestra. Responding to the shifting rhythms and emotional build of the music, the work translates sound into layered gesture, movement, and colour.
Influenced by Julie Mehretu’s Empirical Construction, Istanbul (2003), the drawing explores density, abstraction, and spatial tension, allowing marks to accumulate and dissolve across the surface. The result is a dynamic composition that invites slow looking, offering a visual counterpart to the energy and expansiveness of the music that inspired it.
