Charlotte Deal X Katya Walton Chair

£350.00

This chair is part of a collaborative series that explores the space between art and furniture, functioning as both a usable object and a site for contemplation. This piece is an experimental seating object and functional artwork. It is intended for light domestic use and display rather than everyday dining. Made from repurposed scaffolding boards and designed to be flatpack, the chair extends the life of industrial materials while keeping waste to a minimum.

The surface of this piece features a collaboration with printmaker Charlotte Deal, whose practice centres on looking and contemplation. Using the abstracted motif of the window, her work explores space, atmosphere, and the quiet exchange between inside and outside. Light plays a central role in her practice, whether it is filtering in or drawing the viewer’s gaze outward, inviting a pause and a moment of reflection.

By translating Charlotte Deal’s imagery onto a functional chair, the piece asks where the boundary between art and design sits. It brings a traditionally gallery based experience into the home, allowing the act of sitting to become a subtle encounter with light, space, and stillness.
