Deep meditations
From personal reflection to collective action.
Deep Meditations is a series of nine ink drawings, each developed through a meditative process. Each work depicts an emotion, person, or idea that surfaced during moments of reflection - subjects of personal importance, tension, or deep feeling. Drawing functions here as both method and outcome, translating internal states into tangible form through repetition, focus, and mark-making.
While living in Manchester, Walton became increasingly aware of the city’s visible homelessness, which prompted a desire to extend the work beyond the studio. One drawing from the series, The Thinker, was developed in collaboration with the collective Dust (now Suburban Sprawls) and produced as a limited-edition t-shirt through Everpress. Proceeds from the project were donated to Barnabus, a Manchester-based charity working to end homelessness.
