Artist’s Palette Table
The centre of this table is formed from a reclaimed wooden door, rescued from a skip and previously used as a working palette by a fine art student. Layers of paint and texture have built up through repeated use, creating a surface that functions as an artwork in its own right.
Rather than removing these marks, the original surface has been preserved and encapsulated in resin, fixing a moment of creative process while allowing it to take on a new, functional life. The piece sits between furniture and artwork, carrying the history of its making into a domestic setting.
